Lesson #10: Take a Bite Out of the Price of Your Dental Costs

Like with many things, in dentistry too, price does not always match quality. For example, when given a choice between a more expensive porcelain filling on baby teeth, or a less expensive amalgam filling--why not choose the less expensive one?  The less expensive one will get the job done just as well. But dental decisions usually come when we are facing a problem that needs solving quickly (a filling, a chip, etc). And sometimes dental procedures are costly and dental insurance not as thorough so it’s expensive.

So, how to pay for our dental care if our insurance doesn’t cover most (or any) of it?  In talking with dental health professionals, I’ve learned of new ways to get dental treatment and pay less.  As of this writing, 2020, new dental apps offer consumers deals and reduce dental fees. Two such apps are: the Bento Dental App and Chewsi Dental App. I have not personally yet tried them but I trust the people I know there.
